Specifically, for masturbatory purposes.
More colloquially accepted as, porn. It’s a shady topic of naughty nature and found almost synonymous with men. Normally it’s frowned upon, moreover by women, finding it crude, disgusting, and demeaning(unless they watch it themselves, but that’s few and far between). Though today I stumbled across an article titled, “Discovering Porn(On Your Boyfriend’s Computer)“, and I expected the general response to finding such incriminating evidence. A sigh of disappointment maybe, deletion of said materials and restriction of sexual privileges, the norm. But the author of this article handled things in a mature, very forward way.
She put it on front street. She came right out with it, asked the questions that she wanted answered, and he answered them. This method of action is amazing in relationships. Making the decision whether or not to ignore something or discuss it can make or break a relationship. Either at the time or corrupt it further down the line.
Her confrontation, her questions, her points we’re all amazing. First, her approach. “So, I just called it out. ‘Hey, I was searching for your Christmas present online and found all of your porn sites.’”. The manner wasn’t embarrassing, it was the fact she’d found it. Putting it in a fun, almost humorous way lifts the tension right from the start. Then came the questions, which we’re worded in a way that didn’t barrage him. “Are you doing this because you are unhappy sexually with us?” Sincere, calm, and open. It wasn’t demanding, forceful, or instigative. And the questions themselves were clear and to the point, outlining the basic concerns anyone would have when discovering such source material.
Off from my mental masturbation of the writing, the situation itself brings up a very important point about men. We’re creatures of the physical realm. While women indulge on emotional appeal, men are driven by more tangible appeals. Being aroused and being horny are two very different things for a man. Horniness is derivative of the classic “instinctual drive” for a man has to have sex. Being aroused can be a much more intimate feeling. Normally arousal is shared with someone you’re attracted to on many different planes. That is why men watch porn, to get rid of that feeling of horniness. Men can be dogs, and porn can be a remedy to that. It should be thought of as a godsend if anything. And I think that article gets that point across well, the author’s boyfriend was simply relieving this lust for sex, while the love they made in the bedroom spanned across a whole other realm – beyond physical.
But besides stating the obvious, the article was basically about a great girlfriend. She gets credit.

On the other side of the fence, Austin Powers 4 has a script, another movie? The article speculates that it may be a prequel to the “series” or perhaps a closer look at the villains of the series with Austin taking a less substantial role. It also contains their prediction for the next leading lady, if you’re interested in some fappage.
In the realm of video games, IGN recaps the Nintendo Media Summit ‘08, which left me yearning for more from Nintendo. With every console we’ve received rehashes of first-party games. Mario Baseball? Surprising. Though Mario Kart Wii looks interesting, especially with the steps taken towards innovation, but of course it’s still Mario Kart with some bells and whistles slapped on to it. EA’s Boom Blox astounded me, only for the reason that the concept is so simple and dull that people are actually finding it remotely interesting. You build stuff, then knock it down. Brilliant, next we’ll make a game where we build a make-shift tent and read under dim flashlight. Guitar Hero for DS has been expected for ages, seeing as we’ve had a homebrew version floating around for at least a year and a half now.
I hate to bash Nintendo but the lineup isn’t stirring at all. Samba de Amigo is making a triumphant return, it’s a shame I’ve never played the original so I can’t share in the excitement. Otherwise everything else is expected, a Wii remake, or just trash(see: Boom Bloxxx).
What have I learned today? There are still good girlfriends out there, the video game industry’s dry spell isn’t quite over yet, and what the fuck Boom Blox. Seriously? A game about building blocks and knocking them down? Christ.
